Don’t you find it scary that it is the SECOND most common cancer among women WORLDWIDE for women over the age of 15? If you have not been sitting up and taking notice, perhaps it’s high time you do so. It means that any women in your life, including yourself have a very real chance of having it in some point in your life.

The biggest preventive measure to date would be the PAP Smear. Trust me, I hate it. You feel invaded. There is a huge sense of total violation. But hell, if it can save my life and let me know early if something is not wrong, I’ll be damned if I don’t do it. The same goes for you.

When I read your blog today, I was reminded of one of my closest friends. She contacted cervical cancer in 2006 and she had to have her entire womb removed in order to stay alive. It was emotionally devastating for her as she wanted to have kids very much.
I also witnessed how much suffering she went through due to the pain from her illness. In the end, she didn’t survived. She passed away in February last year to be with our Lord Jesus Christ forever.
And just a couple of days ago, a fellow church member was also sharing with me about PAP Smear test and what they are all about. And now I am reading your latest entry. Quite an interesting timing I feel.
